Text Therapy Instead Of In Office Therapy?

Text therapy is just what it sounds like, yup, you text your thoughts and a therapist responds via text. The question is: is that as therapeutic as in office therapy? Is text therapy going to eventually push in office therapy out? Although I believe text therapy has a therapeutic value in certain circumstances, it absolutely is not therapy nor counseling in the true sense. Nor do I feel text therapy should be instead of in office therapy.

During my LIVE interview on FOX News Boston on 10/22/14 I discussed in further detail my thoughts. If you are interested in this topic, I invite you to check out this segment on ‘Ask Dr. Karen’ entitled: ‘Text Therapy On The Rise?’

  1. My husband is only interested in having a threesome. We have been married almost 50 years. About 25 years ago I made a deal with him if he went to a wedding with me I would have a threesome. I haven’t been able to make that happen. I know I manipulated the situation and have apologized many many times. My husband gets extremely angry when I try to apologize and tells me I don’t care about his feelings. I truly love him but he just obsesses about a threesome or being kinky which I am forced to do 3 times a week and if I miss a day I am given the silent treatment for days. What di I do. I am at my wits end.
