Voice of America – Relationship Advice

Voice of America (VOA) has a new relationship advice blog offering written and sound (via radio) answers for varied relationship questions around the globe.  They called upon this relationship expert to answer questions posed by men from several different countries to provide each of them with advice to help them with their particular challenge.

Voice of America reports their goal is to communicate  “in clear and simple English with people whose native language is not English”. Over the years, its role has expanded and VOA “helps people learn American English while they learn about American life and stay informed about world news and developments in science”.

During this radio interview I provide concrete answers for 3 separate relationship scenarios from men around the globe who wrote into VOA’s relationship blog. One relationship problem was about a 25 year old Chinese man studying medical chemistry in South Korea. He reported that he is struggling with his mother’s disapproval of the plan that his girlfriend intends to move to South Korea. Another case scenario presented included a 40 year old man from Iran asking for advice on how to build effective relationships at work as he had not had a promotion in 15 years. The third request for advice included a 45 year old man from Japan. He wanted advice for how to deal with friends who ask for loans.
